Tuesday is all about giving back to your community as the nation kicks off Giving Tuesday!

All day, non-profits and charities will be asking for your donations.

Amid the frenzy of Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, South Dakota’s nonprofits hope shoppers will set aside some money for a new tradition: the first South Dakota Giving Day.

People are encouraged to spend money on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but on Tuesday, an organization called South Dakota Gives is asking you to direct those dollars to your favorite charity.

First there was Black Friday, then Cyber Monday and Small Business Saturday.

But this year, for the first time in South Dakota, there will be a Giving Tuesday. And Giving Tuesday can be bigger, more beneficial and have a much larger impact than all the others.

For the first time ever in South Dakota, nonprofits and communities from across the state are joining forces on "Giving Tuesday" to participate in a day of giving. South Dakota Gives has nearly 400 nonprofits involved.

The focus of this year’s Giving Tuesday campaign is Museums for All. The Children’s Museum of South Dakota strives to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for our guests.
