Yankton Food For Thought
Yankton Food For Thought provides food and nutritional education to school aged children and their families. The sack pack program provides over 400 packs per week during the school year to students on Fridays to help with hunger insecurities over the weekend. Sack packs are also handed out during the summer through the summer lunch programs. We also have a school food pantry that is open twice a month from 5-7pm to help the working parents be able to pick up some groceries after work hours. The school food pantry serves over 100 families each time we are open. Nutrition education is also important to us so we partnered with SDSU Extension Service Nutrition Assistant to provide classes.
